Precision Series

Compostable Disposable Gloves

Certified compostable gloves engineered from a bio-based PLA and biodegradable PBAT polymer blend. Complies with EN 13432 and ASTM D6400 standards. Food-contact safe (FDA/EU), latex-free, and powder-free. Custom thickness, private label branding, and export packaging available.

Sustainability Meets Performance

Our compostable gloves provide reliable barrier protection and tactile comfort without leaving persistent plastic pollution. Engineered from a blend of renewable PLA and biodegradable PBAT, they return to the earth as natural biomass in commercial composting systems.

Eco-Innovation

Certified Compostable Polymer Blend

Formulated with renewable plant-derived polylactic acid (PLA) and biodegradable PBAT copolymer, these gloves break down completely into water, CO2, and nutrient-rich biomass in industrial composting facilities (EN 13432 / ASTM D6400). They deliver a dependable barrier for businesses pursuing zero-waste and single-use plastic reduction goals without generating persistent microplastics.

Key Performance Features

High Elasticity & Soft Touch

Superior flexibility, soft drape, and comfortable fit compared to conventional stiff PE film, reducing hand fatigue during continuous food prep shifts.

Food Contact Certified

Fully compliant with FDA (21 CFR) and European (EU 10/2011) food contact regulations. Odorless, non-toxic, and safe for handling all types of hot or cold food.

Zero Persistent Microplastics

Breaks down organically under active composting conditions into harmless natural elements, leaving no toxic plasticizers or microplastic residues behind.

Skin-Friendly & Allergen-Free

100% free of natural rubber latex proteins, powder, and phthalates, preventing Type I latex allergies and contact dermatitis.

Why Choose Compostable Gloves?

Traditional polyethylene and vinyl gloves persist in landfills and waterways for hundreds of years. Damao compostable gloves integrate directly into organic waste and food scrap streams, allowing commercial kitchens, food processing plants, and catering services to discard food waste and disposable gloves together into municipal or industrial compost bins.

Industrial Certified

Independently verified to meet EN 13432 (Europe) and ASTM D6400 (USA) industrial compostability standards.

Sanitary & Clean

Smooth surface with embossed non-slip micro-texture, offering secure grip on wet or oily ingredients.

Stable Shelf Life

Remains physically stable and durable for 12 to 18 months when stored in standard recommended warehouse conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our compostable gloves are manufactured from a balanced blend of PLA (polylactic acid, derived from fermented renewable plant starches such as corn) and PBAT (polybutylene adipate terephthalate, a fully biodegradable polymer). PLA provides mechanical strength and structural integrity, while PBAT adds elasticity, softness, and puncture resistance. This combination replicates the flexibility of conventional film gloves while ensuring complete industrial compostability without leaving microplastics.

These gloves are engineered primarily for food contact safe applications, including restaurant food preparation, bakery handling, deli counters, supermarket food stations, catering, light cleaning, salon beauty treatments, and general sanitary protection. Because they are welded-film gloves rather than medical exam gloves (which require strict pinhole AQL testing and FDA 510(k) / EN 455 certification), they are intended for non-medical hygiene and food service tasks.

Because compostable bioplastics are sensitive to excessive heat and humidity, we recommend storing the gloves in a cool, dry warehouse environment below 35°C (95°F) with relative humidity below 65%. Keep boxes in their original outer cartons away from direct sunlight, UV lamps, and heating ducts. When kept under these standard storage conditions, the gloves remain fully stable and durable for 12 to 18 months without degrading on the shelf.

Under active industrial composting conditions (temperatures around 55–60°C with controlled microbial activity and humidity), the gloves typically disintegrate within 90 to 180 days, breaking down completely into water, carbon dioxide, and nutrient-rich organic soil in compliance with EN 13432 and ASTM D6400.

Standard production is certified for industrial composting (OK Compost Industrial / EN 13432). Because backyard home compost heaps operate at significantly lower and fluctuating ambient temperatures (typically 20–30°C), decomposition in home compost takes substantially longer. If your brand specifically requires certified home-compostable gloves (OK Compost HOME), we can customize the polymer formulation upon request.

Compared with conventional PE or CPE gloves, PLA/PBAT compostable gloves are far softer, more flexible, quieter (no loud crinkling noise), and certified eco-friendly. Compared with nitrile gloves, they are designed as an economical, lightweight barrier for short-duration sanitary tasks and food handling, and they can be conveniently discarded directly into organic food waste streams.
